Our live Keroncong nights have become such a favourite that one evening a week is no longer enough.

Now every Tuesday and Friday, Orkes Bali Classic brings Indonesia’s centuries-old rhythm to Hujan Locale.

Live from 7.30–9.30 PM.

Come for dinner and stay for the music but book ahead as these evenings fill quickly.

See you at Hujan Locale ✨
Warteg, new lunch exclusive at Hujan Locale Ubud

Point, choose, and build your perfect plate. Warteg by Hujan Locale brings one of Indonesia's most beloved dining traditions into the heart of Ubud. Walk-ins welcome!

Warteg

Ubud’s newest (and oldest) lunch ritual.

At Hujan Locale we bring you the true heart of Indonesian daily life through our Warteg experience. This style of eatery is a pillar of our food culture because it celebrates the warmth of everyday home cooking.

Instead of reading a menu you stand before a glass display window filled with a selection of fresh inspired dishes from the kitchens of the archipelago. Our offerings change daily based on the best ingredients from the morning markets so there is always something new to discover. You simply look through the glass, point to the rich curries and vibrant vegetables that catch your eye, and watch your plate come to life.

It is an inviting interactive ritual that welcomes you to eat exactly like the locals do.

Private Events

For 20+ Guests

Private dining at Hujan Locale, on Jalan Sri Wedari in the heart of Ubud, at lunch or dinner. For groups of more than 20 guests, the entire dining room is reserved exclusively for your group: 34 seats in the main dining room and 8 on the balcony.

With a modern Indonesian menu by chef Will Meyrick, served family-style, a bar built on Indonesian ingredients and a team that looks after the room from start to finish, it suits birthdays, family celebrations, rehearsal dinners and company events.

Questions we are often asked

Who is behind Hujan Locale?

Hujan Locale is the modern Indonesian restaurant by chef Will Meyrick, set in a heritage townhouse on Jalan Sri Wedari in central Ubud, Bali. His travels across the archipelago inform a menu that keeps regional names and flavours in view.

What is Keroncong Night?

Keroncong is the old string-led popular music of Indonesia. Every Tuesday and Friday, a live Indonesian orchestra plays it in the dining room at Hujan Locale while dinner is served.

What is Sesi Dapur?

Sesi Dapur is the DJ night at Hujan Locale, every Wednesday and Saturday night, with oldies-but-goodies Indonesian tunes and a short list of cocktails made for the night.

Is there a Feed Me menu?

Yes. For those who prefer to leave the choosing to the kitchen, Feed Me brings a selection of Hujan Locale dishes to the whole table, with an optional wine pairing. When it runs, it is listed on this page with its dishes and price.

Do I need to book for music nights?

Seating is limited, so book ahead. You can book a table online or send a WhatsApp message to +62 813 5326 0275.

Can I host my own event at Hujan Locale?

Yes. Tables of more than 10 guests book through Group Dining, and for more than 20 guests the dining room is reserved for your group through Private Events.

Does Hujan Locale offer cooking classes or food tours?

Yes, through Will Meyrick Experiences. Cooking With The Expert teaches a selection of Balinese dishes and sambals in a villa setting, and the Street Food Tour visits the warungs and traditional food stalls of Denpasar or Northern Bali.
